About You and this Role

As Accountant – APAC, you aren’t just managing a ledger, you’re the architect of the full financial picture for primarily our Liferay India entity. Reporting to our Finance Manager APAC in Dublin, you will serve as the senior finance presence on the ground, bridging the gap between local operations and global standards. You’ll take end-to-end ownership of the close, tax, and audit cycles while acting as a high-level mentor to our regional team.  You will also be responsible for oversight of our Japanese entity by taking oversight of our external accountant.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Entity Leadership & Financial Integrity: Take full end-to-end ownership of the financial lifecycle for Liferay India, (a major APAC revenue driver) managing the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes with precision.
  • Regional Oversight (Japan & Beyond): Direct the financial accuracy of Liferay Japan by partnering with external providers and internal stakeholders to ensure reporting consistency and compliance.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Lead the preparation and senior review of Liferay India’s financial statements (IS, BS, and CF), driving deep-dive variance analysis and ensuring all balance sheet reconciliations are audit-ready.

 

  • Audit & Compliance Authority: Act as the primary lead for India’s statutory audits and a key contributor to the consolidated group audit. You will own corporate income tax filings and maintain rigorous compliance across GST, TDS, and transfer pricing.
  • Operational Excellence: Provide final tier review and approval for the AP/AR cycle, vendor payments, bank reconciliations, and intercompany settlements, ensuring a seamless flow within each close cycle.
  • Cash & Treasury Management: Proactively manage cash flow forecasting, monitor banking facilities, and maintain a robust, controls-based environment. 
  • Team Mentorship & Growth: Serve as a mentor to Assistant Accountants across APAC entities, fostering a culture of professional development and high performance.
  • Global Integration: Support the global consolidation process by mastering complex intercompany calculations, eliminations, and revenue recognition standards.
  • Strategic Process Improvement: Lead regional standardization projects to streamline accounting workflows and enhance internal controls across the APAC region.
  • Commercial Support: Review sales commissions and ensure accurate payroll and expense allocations, providing the business with reliable data for decision-making. Ensure accurate financial reporting of payroll, including reconciliations, accruals, statutory dues, and audit readiness, in coordination with HR and payroll vendors 

 

Required Qualifications
  • Qualified Accountant (CA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • 4+ years of post-qualification experience, including ownership of full-cycle close and financial statement preparation.
  • Strong working knowledge of Indian tax (GST, TDS, corporate income tax) and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Hands-on Tally experience required.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or executing local statutory audits end-to-end.
  • Solid technical accounting foundation, including revenue recognition, complex accruals, and intercompany transactions.
  • Experience mentoring or reviewing the work of junior accountants.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills in English; comfortable working with cross-regional teams.
  • High level of attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and a drive for continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a multinational environment with multi-entity consolidation and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Exposure to B2B SaaS or enterprise software business models, including subscription revenue recognition.
  • Experience with NAV, or similar ERP systems in addition to Tally.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce as it relates to customer invoicing and order-to-cash.
  • Track record of leading process improvement or automation projects in a finance function.
